Day Skipper Practical

Description:

The entry level for those wishing to skipper their own (or chartered) yacht. Over a five day cruise, visiting different ports everyday, students will learn to navigate, sail and pilot a small family cruiser between coastal harbours. With a high emphasis on safety, students will learn enough to take command of a small yacht, in a fair weather for daytime cruises.

Prior experience required:
At lesat 100 miles as a participating crew member on a small yacht. Or, extensive dinghy sailing/or flotilla holiday experience.
Suitable for:
Those wishing to either buy a yacht and/or charter. This qualification is recognised by charter companies as proof of competence.
